Gray Geometric Quilt
When someone commissioned this quilt I thought it would be fairly straight forward — boy, was I wrong! My quilts are often very colorful and pretty intricate, but this one is all grays and uses giant swaths of fabric. To make this king sized abstract beauty required more math than I’ve done in a while and a very steady hand while cutting! The curve was the trickiest part, and I ended up relying on some thoughtfully-placed bias tape to smooth out the seam.
The quilting was different than my usual as well. Lines & curves echo about 1 inch apart, stitched on my Handi Quilter Infinity. I finished it off with hand binding around the edge. The quilt stretched my brain and my creative muscles, and I’m thrilled with the striking outcome!
